Why MXF

Content is everything
Recently there are lots of discussions about the future of television, the future of broadcast or the future of media distribution in general. Owners of intellectual property need efficient workflows for tapeless media distribution and future proof open formats to exchange between different systems.
On the other side there is the web and new ways of fast media distribution with huge communities. These services showed impressively how to animate large numbers of social communities to create and provide selfmade video content. Requirements are low, a simple web cam connected to a computer is enough to start the show. Large archives of web based media have grown within the last years and are expanding every day. But what about in five years, or in ten or in twenty? The technical quality of web media is pretty limited to distribution quality. But what about the production cycle? If the user provides the content in strong compressed distribution quality who cares about the archive? Is there an archive in high-resolution quality and how future proof is it? How much content will survive the next five years? Viewed a few thousand times, replaced by new content and quickly forgotten?
No matter if you run a video blog or a large television enterprise business, MXF has never been so easy and integrated on open desktop computer systems. MXF for the Mac is now available for all of us.
Content is everything.
