Our MXF import solution supports a wide range of standard and high definition formats. By using this component you can read MXF files from both Sony XDCAM (OP1a) and Panasonic P2 (OP-Atom) without converting or referencing to the QuickTime file format. MXF4QT is the only solution that combines conversion-free realtime access to these completely different MXF variations.
Beside this the solution is compatible to much more variations from broadcast media and ingest devices, hard disk recorders, or software that creates MXF. It also supports SMPTE 384M uncompressed 4:2:2 UYVY PAL video (tested and verified with footage from the BBC D3 transfer project) by using Final Cut Pro’s uncompressed 8-bit codec for realtime effect editing. Thanks to our independent MXF core libraries and internal analyzer application we can continuously add more MXF variations from even more sources.
We care about workflows. If you are a Panasonic P2 user then you will love the included P2 Flow - an easy to use P2 import helper application to speed up P2 imports tremendously in Final Cut Pro with freely defined meta data mapping*.

MXF4QT also allows access to MXF media that is still being transfered or recorded. This is a very important feature for fast access to live recordings or in general to any transfered media. You can even access streaming MXF media that is transfered via FTP or a web browser through a normal internet connection

Update your streaming MXF media in Final Cut Pro with just one mouse click by using the included FxPlug plug-in. UpdateFCPMedia will launch automatically with Final Cut Pro and provides a new user interface element to fast re-scan and update media files. There is zero latency and no buffering or chunking of the recorded, ingested or transferred MXF media - you get what is there in the moment you click on the icon. This feature also works with MXF files that are being checked out by Final Cut Server. You can edit checked out MXF OP1a media in Final Cut Pro while the transfer to a local client is still in progress.

Imagine a shooting location that can be linked to the post-production facility through a fast internet connection and start working with MXF files provided by a server. Start testing the key for blue screen footage while downloading it. Access your news footage in ultimate realtime speed without latency, chunking, referencing, or buffering. Live ingest and edit MXF directly from Omneon, EVS, Grass-Valley and others sources. Don’t block the editing system anymore while an ingest in progress. Save time and disk space by working directly with native MXF files.
We are also working on XDCAM HD and other format support. Please check our website frequently for the latest state of development.

In addition to our import solution we also provide a MXF export component. MXF4QT Export is an individual component that can be used independently from the MXF4QT Import component.
The MXF4QT Export component allows export to OP1a in all D10/IMX variations. Open any QuickTime compatible media in Apple’s QuickTime Pro Player and export it to standard MXF. The QuickTime multimedia architecture allows any application to interface with third-party components. Create your own applications, Automater, Apple or Unix scripts to interface with MXF4QT and enhance your MXF workflows. Even image sequences and Motion projects can be exported to MXF just by using the QuickTime Player or any Mac OS X application that supports standard QuickTime exports.

We also support streaming MXF at export. Faster then realtime exports are ready to playout while the export is still in progress. While the export is still in progress you can also import the MXF file again on a Final Cut Pro workstation to start editing it.
We are also working on other format support. Please check our website frequently for the latest state of development.
